At the Leader’s Office, there was a consultative meeting on nuclear issues. He agreed that, under certain conditions, the protocol could be signed and effectively implemented, but he opposed suspending enrichment activities, which is what the International Atomic Energy Agency and Europe, the United States, and Russia are seeking. Messrs. Rouhani, Kharrazi, and Khatami called for a temporary suspension. Dr. Rouhani was proposed to travel to Europe for negotiations, but my view is that someone should come from there and negotiations should be held in Iran.
