Additionally, the US has also paid 150 million dollars in compensation to the passengers of the downed Iranian Airbus [in the summer of 1988].
In northwestern Greece, a 6.4 magnitude earthquake has struck. There is extensive damage, but only 10 people have been injured. The heatwave and drought in Europe continue to cause casualties.
