The US has officially declared the National Council of Resistance of Iran (Mojahedin-e-Khalq organization) as terrorist and illegal, frozen their accounts, and banned any assistance to them; perhaps due to the unjustifiability of the double standard policy regarding terrorists that is not accepted from the US, although it has shown leniency toward them.

in the Infrastructure Committee of the Expediency Discernment Council, we approved the general policies on spatial planning from the perspective of development and economy, and we also had discussions about the strange power outage incidents in the US and Canada.

In the evening, Mr. [Seyyed Reza] Zavare'i, [a member of the Guardian Council], came. Criticizing the current affairs of the country, he consulted about running in the upcoming presidential elections.

Dr. [Abbas] Sheibani, [a member of the Tehran City Council], came. He spoke about the budget deficit of the Tehran Municipality, due to restrictions on the sale of density (construction permits), and said that the City Council is reviewing the odd-even license plate scheme for car usage in Tehran.

Gradually, electricity is being restored in the US and Canada, but returning to normal conditions will take more time. Now the debate over the weakness of US infrastructure management has intensified, and Bush, [the US President], called it a wake-up call. Observers compare the US power situation to that of developing countries; they still have not been able to identify and announce the cause of the blackout.

In Iraq today, the people of Nasiriyah held large-scale demonstrations against the occupiers. Two oil pipelines from Iraq to Turkey were again cut off due to sabotage. Pressure on the occupiers has increased. Muqtada al-Sadr spoke sharply against the US and the Governing Council in Friday prayers yesterday, while Mr. Hakim has called the Governing Council legitimate. Gradually, differences among Shiite factions are also emerging.

The US has officially declared the National Council of Resistance of Iran (Mojahedin-e-Khalq organization) as terrorist and illegal, frozen their accounts, and banned any assistance to them; perhaps due to the unjustifiability of the double standard policy regarding terrorists that is not accepted from the US, although leniency toward them in Iraq is also a stain on America's record, and some think that US, French, and British policies in this regard have a single root.

The heatwave in Europe continues to claim lives. In France alone, the death toll from heatstroke has been announced as over three thousand, many of whom were unaccompanied elderly.

An Iran Air plane experienced technical failure over Indian airspace and made an emergency landing. Israeli aircraft flew over the city of Latakia in Syria, while Bashar al-Assad, [the President], is there; perhaps due to Syria's rejection of US demands regarding Palestine and Lebanon.
