Middle East Eye wrote: The U.S. decision to deploy B-2 bombers at the Diego Garcia base in the Indian Ocean is the result of the Gulf Arab states' opposition to using their airspace for a possible attack on Iran.

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait have told the United States that they will not allow their territory or airspace to be used to attack Iran, even for refueling or rescue operations. A senior US official told Middle East Eye on condition of anonymity.
