Syrian media announced on Monday that Maysa Sabereen has been appointed as the interim governor of the Central Bank of Syria. She is the first woman to be appointed to this position.
Sabereen holds a doctorate in accounting and has been the first deputy governor of the Central Bank of Syria since October 2018.
He was also the head of the Central Bank's Inspection Department for a time and a member of the board of directors of the Damascus Stock Exchange as a representative of the Central Bank.
