Memoirs of Akbar Hashemi – May 3, 1982

I called the front early in the morning. They said, there was no activity on our part last night and the enemy had two camps that were repulsed. The enemy has poured water at the entrance of Khorramshahr to protect it from attack. I stayed at home until the evening. I had no important work and I studied and rested. Near the evening, they came from the Revolutionary Guard magazine (Piyam Elkhebal) and there was a long interview.  

On the first night, Colonel Salimi, the Minister of Defense, called and said that the plane carrying Algerian Foreign Minister [Mohammed Sediq Ben Yahya] was pursued by two Iraqi fighters as soon as he entered Iran, and he was informed of the danger with the guidance of the control tower of the Tabriz base.
