At the conference of information ministers of Islamic countries in Tehran, it was decided that the year 2000 would be designated as "Quds Year," which is a good initiative. The issue of Mr. Abdollah Nouri's condemnation is still a hot topic in leftist and foreign media. Mr. Seyyed Abdolkarim Mousavi Ardebili and Mr. Hossein Ali Montazeri have also supported him by contacting his family. Previously, Mr. Seyyed Jalaleddin Taheri Isfahani, the Friday Prayer Leader of Isfahan, had done the same.

Some media outlets criticize Mr. Khatami for not taking serious action, while others justify his inaction, arguing that our faction should not involve him in dangerous actions and should be content with using him as a protective umbrella.

The United States has once again repeated its accusations against Iran and urged its allies to limit their relations with Iran. The summit of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Riyadh, for the first time in several years, did not take a negative stance toward Iran, and Iran welcomed this development.
