بیانیه عفو بین الملل درباره بازگشت گشت ارشاد در ایران: مقامات نمی‌توانند با برداشتن عبارت "گشت ارشاد" از روی لباس‌ها ون‌های گشت، کسی را فریب دهند

In a statement published on Wednesday, July 26, the human rights organization Amnesty International announced that the international community should stand by the women and girls of Iran who are suffering from increasing oppression.

This statement described the repressions against women and girls who do not observe the mandatory hijab and announced that these repressions have intensified.

Among other things, since April 15, 2023, more than a million women inside Iran have received messages warning that their vehicles may be confiscated after cameras capture images of them without headscarves.

In addition, countless women have been suspended or expelled from universities, barred from taking final exams, and denied access to banking services and public transportation. Hundreds of businesses have also been sealed due to the non-implementation of mandatory hijab regulations.

Agnes Callamar, Secretary General of Amnesty International, also announced: "The moral police is back in Iran." The authorities cannot deceive anyone by removing the words "guidance patrol" from the uniforms and patrol vans, while at the same time they encourage the perpetrators of the oppression of the Islamic Republic to carry out the same violent behavior with women and girls without fear of any punishment. who had Mahsa Amini. Now the crackdown is intensified with the help of mass surveillance technologies that are able to identify women without veils in cars and pedestrian spaces.

At the end, Amnesty International emphasizes that the authorities should refrain from plans to punish women and girls for using the rights of equality, privacy and freedom of expression, religion and belief, and adds: "The international community should not allow the Iranian authorities to oppress women and girls. Girls are aggravated and remain unemployed.

Governments' response should not be limited to public statements and diplomatic interventions but should include legal pursuits to hold Iranian officials accountable for issuing orders, planning and widespread and systematic human rights violations against women and girls. All governments should do their best to support women and girls fleeing gender-based harassment and serious human rights violations in Iran. "They must also ensure that women have access to fast and safe asylum procedures and are not forcibly returned to Iran under any circumstances."
