One cannot describe the anniversary of the establishment of Azad University as an event outside of Hashemi's record.
The Hamihan newspaper wrote:
It is not possible to describe the anniversary of the founding of Azad University as an event separate from Hashemi's record. The intentional or inadvertent forgetfulness of Pezeshkian becomes more jarring when we remember how his two predecessors and supporters in the 2024 elections referred to the founder on the anniversaries of Azad University.
The forgetfulness of the name Hashemi Rafsanjani is unacceptable for a president like Masoud Pezeshkian, whether it is intentional and due to political considerations to avoid any friction and interpretable words, or if it is a mere oversight.
It is surprising how he remembers and recites the poems of Muhammad Iqbal Lahori, but forgets the founder of Azad University.
