I read the reports of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the resignation of the Lebanese Council and Mr. [Muammar] Gaddafi's [Libyan leader] trip to the Council and the possibility of his coming to Iran and the discovery of explosives in the Emirate of Sharjah by people attributed to Iran. I read the Prime Minister's letter about the problems of the future cabinet due to the difference of opinion between the President and him; It is a serious problem, but it must be fixed.
Before noon, Ahmad Agha came and we discussed about the war, the government, the air force, Khark Island and the Strait of Hormuz, and I sent a message to the Imam about these matters. Then I wrote a letter stating the need for the Imam to invite the youth to participate in the fronts and mobilization.
Mr. [Gholamreza] Aghazadeh informed by phone that in three days the plane carrying the Phoenix, Harpoon and Sidewinder missiles will arrive and another plane will arrive in the next week. The Americans give these in the hope of taking their hostages in Lebanon and gaining our satisfaction. If these promises come true, it will indicate a turnaround in American policy towards us.
In the evening Mr. [Mohsen] a supplicant came and asked questions about the future government, Khark Island, radio and television, and the war, and asked for a loan to build a house. At night, Haj Abdullah Davodi came and asked for help to get a respite from the execution of the court order regarding the demolition of a building, a part of which was mistakenly placed on the adjacent property. I told [Colonel Sediq] the commander of the air force to take an aerial photo of the future operation site. Mahdi went to take part in breast-feeding [in Taswa ceremony] and came in the evening.
