In continuation of Dr. Ahad Milani-Nia’s periodic visits for Hashemi’s check-ups and treatment, this time he was accompanied by Dr. Fereydoun Azizi for a diabetes re-examination.

**Consultation with Shahabuddin Sadr on the Medical System Elections**

**Consultation with Ali Fathollahzadeh Khoyee**

**Meeting with Saeed Asadi, Film Director**

**Meeting and Report from Masiheh Mohajeri**: This is particularly significant as he informs Hashemi that the Reformist government had arranged with the judiciary to provide 5 billion tomans (in 2000) in financial support, in exchange for the judiciary easing its press censorship. However, Ayatollah Khamenei prevented this agreement from being realized. Will Masiheh Mohajeri now provide more details about that agreement after all these years?

**Meeting with Ahmad Pishbin, Representative from Baft**

**Full Daily Entry**: Dr. Fereydoun Azizi, an endocrinologist, along with Dr. Ahad Milani-Nia, came for diabetes treatment as it had recently elevated. They provided dietary and medication guidelines. For Iffat, whose liver enzymes were slightly elevated, they also offered instructions.

I arrived at my office at nine; on previous days, I would arrive by seven-thirty. Dr. Shahabuddin Sadr, head of the Medical System Organization, came to provide explanations for the upcoming medical elections. He hopes to be re-elected. He shared suggestions regarding the presidential elections and fostering unity among political groups.

Mr. Ali Fathollahzadeh Khoyee, the manager of Esteghlal Club, visited. Similar to our previous meeting, he discussed young people's interest in sports and the two clubs, Esteghlal and Persepolis, emphasizing that this enthusiasm should be utilized for political and social purposes. He expressed concern about the changing mindset of the youth.

Mr. Saeed Asadi, a film director, came by. He worked in Germany for 22 years and returned to Iran towards the end of my presidency. He has made two films and was supposed to produce a movie about the crime of the downing of the Iranian Airbus by the U.S. in summer 1988. His employer was the state broadcasting organization, and I had provided them with $200,000 at the end of my term, but it seems they did not like his script, and the project did not materialize. He believes that the Ministry of Culture and cinema officials have boycotted him. He brought examples of his media presence and the Airbus script for me to read, seeking assistance for the film's production.

Mr. Masiheh Mohajeri, the editor-in-chief of the Jomhouri-ye Islami newspaper, came to follow up on issues related to the elections and the press. He mentioned hearing that the judiciary was willing to ease restrictions on certain newspapers in exchange for receiving the 5 billion tomans from the government, but that the Leader intervened to prevent this.

In the evening, I officiated at the wedding of Mr. Amir Ali Aghayari, one of the staff members at the Special Diseases Foundation. Mr. Ahmad Pishbin, the representative from Baft, also visited. He expressed concerns about the moral and political deviations among the youth, as well as the economic situation, and offered suggestions. He said that today, revolutionary forces recognize the value of your government. The Intifada continues, and in front of the White House in Washington, 15,000 Muslims, Christians, and Jews protested against Israel and the U.S.
