The Assembly of Experts convened, and the general approval for the revival of the Judicial Police organization was passed, although the details were not finalized later in the process.

Monthly political gatherings were formed alongside the Assembly meetings, which Hashemi (or the publisher) deemed appropriate to omit even from the general discussions in today's entry.

Meeting with the late Seyyed Hadi Khosroshahi on the eve of his assignment as the head of Iran's Interests Section in Cairo.

Hashemi's overall narrative regarding the issuance of statements and positions against the special clerical courts.

Full Entry of the Day:

The Assembly of Experts held a session. The use of the Judicial Police was approved, but the request for financial independence and the establishment of its structure remained unfinished; the chances of approval in this format seem slim. In the afternoon, we had our usual monthly meeting after the Assembly session, where we discussed the presidential elections and current issues facing the country.

In the evening, Mr. Seyyed Hadi Khosroshahi came by. He is heading to Egypt to serve as the head of Iran's Interests Section. He sought advice regarding policies for dealing with the Egyptians. I mentioned that the principle is to renew relations, but the leadership's condition regarding distancing from the Camp David Accords is a barrier. He brought some of his writings, which included documents from the struggle and also documents related to Seyyed Jamal al-Din Asadabadi. He stated that before the revolution, he had collected all the announcements and documents and, with the permission of Ayatollah Seyyed Kazem Shariatmadari, had kept them at the Dar al-Tabligh, believing that such a collection is not available to others.

News from the Arab leaders' summit in Cairo is at the forefront. The speeches are generally sharp, and some believe these harsh words are meant to fill the void left by serious decisions. The Intifada continues, with several more martyrs and many injured. Strong statements against the judicial system, particularly the special clerical courts, are being issued. I stayed in my office at night.
