While the wildfires in the state of California are still raging, estimates suggest that the fires in Los Angeles in recent days have caused tens of billions of dollars in damage to buildings and properties.
The Los Angeles County Chamber of Commerce said Thursday that preliminary estimates put the damage to assets at $53.8 billion when market value is taken into account.
If the criterion is for estimating the registered value of the assets, the amount of damage will be estimated at $28 billion.
Given that these accidents caused the loss of 15,000 jobs, $1.2 billion in wages and income were also lost.
