Recently, a narrative has been published from Lieutenant General Hossein Salami stating that the technology for destroying aircraft carriers has been achieved.

Hossein Salami says in this part of the interview: American aircraft carriers are known as the symbol and manifestation of military power, the glory and awe of America's military might.

We had to assume that we must either destroy, sink, or capture this aircraft carrier.

We tested the ballistic anti-ship missile for the first time, after several successes and failures in previous tests.

When this missile was moving, a target surface—many times smaller than an aircraft carrier—was placed on the sea as a stationary target. This ballistic missile, built for the first time by the engineers and scientists of the IRGC Air Force, had to align its line of sight with the target along its longitudinal axis. This meant that the missile's control fins had to respond with hundreds of frequency responses per second to keep the missile aligned with the target.

We were monitoring the missile's movement and target tracking on a television screen using a telemetry system. All the team members, dozens of people, were standing, packed together, staring at the screen.

When the tracking process was completed, everyone held their breath, waiting to see if we were on the verge of a technological revolution.

The missile got closer to the target, and the target on the screen grew larger and larger until it landed for the first time at a very short distance from the target.

When the missile landed just a few meters—less than 10 meters—from the target, which was an extraordinary precision for our technology at that time, it was as if the entire crowd exploded; everyone was shouting, because we had achieved a great success. It was a step, but a very big step.

This missile demonstrated that for the first time, we had managed to take a step toward the destruction of aircraft carriers, beyond the enemy's ability to intercept this system. It was a monumental achievement.
