According to paragraph (d) of Article 113 of the Seventh Five-Year Plan Law, in order to expedite the investigation of traffic accidents resulting in unintentional bodily injuries, with the exception of the cases mentioned in Articles (714) and (715) of the Islamic Penal Code, the Police Command of the Islamic Republic of Iran is obliged to determine the cause of the accident directly or through an accident expert and refer the injured person to the forensic medicine.

The accident expert's report and the forensic medical report are communicated to the parties and the insurance company or the bodily injury fund through the Sana system... If the aforementioned opinions are not objected to within one week after the notification, the insurer or the fund is obliged to pay bodily damages to the victim in accordance with the opinion of the forensic medicine without the need for a court decision and within a maximum of twenty days after the end of the objection period. In case of objection, the matter will be referred to the judicial authority for consideration.
