Today I was at home studying until nine o'clock. I went to meet the Imam. I explained to the Imam the issue of the abrupt elimination of interest from the operations of the banks and the disagreement between the two hardline and traditional schools of thought in society, Parliament, the government, and the Party.

Until noon I read reports at home. In the afternoon, [Mr. Mohammad Salmati], the Minister of Agriculture, came and gave a report and statistics on the progress in the production of wheat, rice, fish, livestock, cotton, and so on, and asked for help in solving the problems arising from attacks by the conservative faction. Ahmad Agha came and spoke about Sadegh Tabatabaei's activities abroad and expressed doubt about his success in military procurement. Mr. Bankdar from the Ministry of Health called to give me the time for my dentist appointment.

Early in the evening, Colonel [Ali] Sayyad Shirazi came and spoke about the front's plans, the results of their negotiations with the Revolutionary Guard, and their differences of opinion on some issues. Today the children started the new school year, went to the Jamaran school, and returned early.

Late at night, Messrs. Mohsen Rezaei and [Ali] Shamkhani came and explained their extensive plan to eradicate the counterrevolution, the preparations for which begin this week. We consulted about the future of the war and discussed expanding the Revolutionary Guard's capabilities.
