Finally, Colonel Farrokh Azimi Etamadi - the proposed Minister of Defense - did not vote [and Mr. Seyyed Kazem Akrami, the proposed Minister of Education received the Etamadi vote]. Early in the morning, Mr. [Mohsen] Rezaei informed that last night's attack on Mimak front was successful. We have taken the desired heights and had few casualties and captured a number of prisoners.
In the afternoon, Mr. Mohsen Rafiq Dost [Minister of IRGC] and [Ali] Shamkhani [Deputy Commander-in-Chief of IRGC] came. It was discussed and accepted about entrusting the protection of personalities to the IRGC. They talked about their disagreement with the Minister of Information and asked for help. They also gave reports about [the army's] overseas activities. In the evening, the president and the prime minister asked me by phone about the results of the attack and the [fronts] of the war.
