At night, I was somewhat upset. In the morning, I had a slight fever. I went to the assembly. In the open session, the bill on the Islamic Labor Council was under discussion. Since I was unwell, I entrusted the session to Mr. Yazdi and came to my office. I rested until eleven o'clock. Before noon, Mr. [Hossein] Mahlooji came and spoke about the need to pay more attention to contractors and to prevent excesses in eliminating and excluding them, especially under conditions in which we need their expertise to build the country and implement development projects. Mr. Mohammad-Javad Hojjati Kermani came and repeated his old remarks about the excesses of the Hezbollahis; of course, in a calmer tone. He wanted a cultural position to be assigned to him after completing his term as a [parliament] representative. He had lunch with me.
In the afternoon, the representative from Marivan and some of the local officials came and complained about the people's difficulties after the bombing and the people's migration and displacement, and about the relief officials not arriving. I spoke by telephone with Mr. Nateq Noori, the Minister of the Interior, and emphasized addressing the people's problems. Mr. [Ali] Fallahian, head of the Revolutionary Committees, came and we discussed the future of the committees and their location and headquarters - which is the old Islamic Consultative Assembly. Mr. Torabi from the [Army] Advisory Office came and gave a report on the specifications of the Super Étendard aircraft and the manner of defense, and reported that we had taken a convoy of ships to Mahshahr and brought them out. At night, at the office of [Ayatollah] Mr. Khamenei, Colonel Sayyad Shirazi came from the front and gave a report on future operations. They have postponed one for now and will carry out the other in the next two or three days. In my view, the one that was postponed would have been better if it had been carried out.
