At eight in the morning, we went to the international [industrial and commercial] exhibition. Efat and Yaser also came. Until ten in the morning, I visited several halls and booths and negotiated with their managers. Then we attended the opening ceremony. Messrs. [Syed Mustafa] Hashemi [Taba, Deputy Minister of Commerce] and [Abdul Hossein] Vahaji, [Minister of Commerce] reported and I spoke briefly. I also lit the torch.
Then we visited some other halls and in an interview, I expressed my satisfaction with the exhibition and the process of production and industry in the country. We prayed to the congregation in the newly built mosque of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.), which was built in the exhibition area, and again we visited the booths of heavy industries and a locomotive that we built recently.
I returned home and told them to bring my work from the office. Dr. [Ali Akbar] Velayati, [Minister of Foreign Affairs], on the phone, asked for permission to send a private message from us to the Emir of Qatar regarding the conflict that Qatar had with Saudi Arabia yesterday. With some kind of support. Mr. [Mahmoud] Vaezi, [Deputy for Europe and America of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs] also asked for permission to clarify the issue of Abu Musa Island with the members of the [High] Council of [National] Security.
