Dr. [Abdollah] Jasbi came; we discussed Islamic Azad University, and it was decided that after the bylaws were approved, the entrance exam would be announced. I gave my opinion about the bylaws. We had a meeting of the central council of the [Islamic Republic] Party. The Prime Minister gave a report on the country's economic situation; his opponents seemed displeased with the report and were heckling.
We discussed the upcoming elections. Late at night, there was a meeting of the leaders; we discussed pursuing the Tudeh Party and the Meysami group, and agreed to the extent of arresting the leaders of the Tudeh Party. The security officials proposed arresting a large number of people, but we did not accept it. It was also decided to release the Meysami group on the condition that they surrender their weapons, and likewise Mr. [Dariush] Forouhar. At night, I went to the parliament for dinner and sleep.
