Then, by car, we visited the towns and areas around Tehran that were built after the revolution without following regulations and have caused many problems for logistics and services. Finally, the underground canals being constructed to transfer Tehran's surface water were visited.
In the afternoon, Dr. Velayati, [the Foreign Minister], arrived and reported on the trip to Iraq. The Iraqis have placed great importance on the visit. It was agreed that the release of prisoners would continue and plans would be made for pilgrims' travel. The Iraqis expect our assistance in the Persian Gulf crisis, although they have not made a direct request. Hajieh Bibi and relatives came.
