Full text of the diary:

At the meeting of the Expediency Council, another part of the Law on the Protection of Foreign Investment was approved. Mr. [Seyyed Ali Asghar Mir] Hejazi, [Deputy Chief of Staff of the Supreme Leader's Office], said that some people have informed the Supreme Leader that there are harmful ambiguities in the law. I told Mr. [Mohsen] Rezaei [the secretary of the assembly] to take the text so that they could see a leader, and if they had any suggestions, they should send it.

Messrs. [Abbas Vaez] Tabasi, [Ahmad] Jannati, [Ghorbanali] Dorri [Najafabadi], [Mohammad Ali] Movahedi [Kermani], and [Ali Akbar] Nategh [Nouri] were my guests. It was decided that Mr. Jannati, [the secretary of the Guardian Council], would stop the proposal to solve the issue of parliamentary elections, and we would wait for the proposal to amend the electoral law on behalf of the parliament itself.

Mr. Tabasi [the Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi] complains about the behavior of the judiciary with regard to his son Nasser. He believes that it has nothing to do with the court of economic corruption. He denied the rumor of his trip to the United States. Mr. Nategh, [the head of the Supreme Leader's Office], reported on the charges against Mr. [Ziauddin] Mir-Emadi, [the former prosecutor of Tehran], who had been arrested and had given himself money for the interest-free loan fund.Mr. [Mohammad] Yazdi, [a member of the jurists of the Guardian Council], complained to Mr. Jannati about why he had asked for the election law to be challenged without the knowledge of the other members [of the Guardian Council]. Mr. Dorri [the head of the Court of Administrative Justice] also considers himself to be oppressed by the court's action against his son.

In the evening, Mrs. [Kao Gochi], the Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, arrived. He was impressed by the beauty of the Expediency Council's building, and Vakili praised the art of Iranians. He thanked Iran for its assistance in the Afghan issue and asked for cooperation in the reconstruction of Afghanistan and said that Japan would help the employment of armed men in civil and civil affairs. He asked us to solve our problems with the United States. He remembered me as the founder of good relations with Japan after the revolution. I spoke about the unreliability of the United States and its faults in the creation of the Taliban.

Two newspapers, Bonyan and Iran, were temporarily suspended today.  A recreational boat carrying a group of schoolgirls sank in the small lake of Park Shahr, killing six people, in addition to the rower and a group of others. In Bangladesh, a ship sank and 400 people were killed. The city of Esfarayen has been flooded. Last night and today, we had a lot of rain.
