Memoirs of Akbar Hashemi – June 25, 1987

I came to the parliament early in the morning and started working on the war. Operation Nasr 5 has started and we have made progress. The third stage of Operation Nasr 4 was carried out last night and it was successful. We decided to announce it by making radio and television programs abnormal. In Abu Musa Island, our agents have lowered the Sharjah flag. After consulting with the relevant officials, it was decided to install the flag again at the request of the Sultan of Sharjah.

I did not go to the public session of the parliament. I did my office work. Representatives came to Bojnoord. They complained about the judicial officials of the city. [Mr. Bijan Namdar Zanganeh] Minister of Jihad Construction came to ask for help regarding the bill to integrate the Ministry of Agriculture in Jihad. Mr. [Abd al-Wahed] Mousavi Lari from the Ministry of Guidance came and consulted for cultural works. [Responsible for] Public Relations [Parliament], went to make arrangements for the Nicaraguan guests.

In the evening, security and intelligence officials came. Mr. [Syed Ali Akbar] Mohtashmi [Minister] reported and I spoke. Mr. [Syed Ali Akbar] came and consulted about activating Hosseiniyeh Irshad. This Hosseinieh is stagnant after the revolution; I agreed.

Mr. Granmayeh, the head of the [central Iran] insurance, came. reported the insurance work; is satisfied Mr. Mukhtar [Kalantari] deputy commander of the Revolutionary Committee came. He reported the work of the committees and the extent of participation in the war. [Mr. Saidi Kia] Minister of Roads and Transport and those who are involved in the reconstruction of the important bridge of Tele Zang - which was destroyed by Iraq - came. I thanked them.

Mr. [Syed Ali Asghar] Hijazi came from the Ministry of Information. He brought documentary reports that show the possibility of US, French and British military intervention in the Persian Gulf against us. After the news, I came home at night. There was no one at home. The results of Operation Nasr 5 were announced; it is good I ate dinner and slept.
