Near eight in the morning, I started the official meeting of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, and then handed over [presidency of the meeting] to Mr. [Mohammad] Mousavi Khoeiniha [Second Deputy Speaker] and went to the former library of the parliament, to participate in the meeting of the Assembly of Experts [of the Leadership]. The number of attendees had not reached quorum.

The number of attendees was not enough to make it official. The discussion was about selecting the members of the research group. Before the session became official, speeches were made on this matter as a pre-agenda item, and finally, we voted, and the research committee was elected; but with a note, we approved that a part of its duties, which may not be enforceable or possible to enforce in Imam's office for now, should be subject to the directive of the Assembly of Experts, which will be decided later. We had lunch with the guests of the Assembly of Experts. After resting, I studied until six thirty and reviewed the reports.
The governor of Fars came. He talked about his services and complained about Mr. Nategh Nouri [Minister of Interior] for not supporting him. He had resigned; I told him to withdraw it. Mr. [Kamal] Kharrazi [Head of War Propaganda] came and consulted about the focus of propaganda in the upcoming attack. It is close, and in the central front, it is likely that the Iraqis are aware; because they bombed the same axis today. A group from the IRGC, from the army, and from the organizers of university entrance exams had come to meet; I spoke to them in detail.
The deputy commander of the ground forces [of the army] reported that Saddam had come to Erbil today and had attacked the Haj Omran area via heliborne with forty helicopters and had been defeated. Three Iraqi planes and seven helicopters had crashed. Early in the evening, we had a meeting with the Prime Minister in the office of Mr. President; we discussed the resignation of Mr. Asgaroladi, the Minister of Commerce - which he had recently submitted - and the cabinet reshuffle; it was decided that several ministers would be changed or swapped. Late at night, I came home; Effat and Fati had gone to the house of my late brother [Qasem] for the wedding ceremony of Farzaneh [my niece] with the son of Mr. [Abolfazl] Tavakoli [Bina]. I had dinner alone and went to sleep. They came late.
