I came to the parliament early in the morning. Mr. Shamkhani informed that the first stage of the operation has been successfully completed and our forces are busy building the embankment. I told Dr. Rouhani to follow up for anti-aircraft and hack support and sending mortar ammunition. I told Mr. [Kamal] Kharazi [Chief of the War Propaganda Staff] to be ready to give the first statement of the camp before noon, after the situation on the front is known.

I did not go to the public meeting to discuss the war situation further. I told Mr. [Mehdi] Karroubi [first vice president] to tell the representatives about the start of Mehran's extradition operation. I stayed in my office until the evening. I was in regular contact with the front. I confirmed the contents of the camp's statements. The latest news from Mehran region says that we have captured more than 300 prisoners and half of the second stage of the operation has been completed and so far the enemy has not resisted seriously and has been taken by surprise.

In the afternoon [Syed Mohammad Kazem] Imam Mousavi, the representative of Shushtar, came and complained about the movements of the extremist line and Imam Juma of Shushtar. Mr. Dari [Najafabadi] and [Abdullah] Nouri [Chairman of the Parliament's Program and Budget Commission] came to negotiate and examine the use of the war budget. Mr. [Ali Akbar] Mohtashmi [Interior Minister] and [Asghar] Ebrahimi [CEO of Metro Company] came. The needs of the [Tehran] metro were discussed. It should be activated.

In the evening, I went to the meeting of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution. From the front, they gave good news about the more than expected progress in Mehran. In the evening [members] of the Central Council of the Fighting Clergy Society [Tehran] were the guests of Ayatollah Khamenei. I arrived home late. I did not sleep well due to the heat.
