At noon I met with the governor of Lorestan, who was satisfied with the progress of the work and dissatisfied with the pressure from the Hezbollahis. Dr. Hanjini also came and complained about the [Islamic Republic] Party, and consulted about the parliamentary staff salary plan that had been referred to the committee.
In the afternoon we held a meeting with the Imam's representatives in the armed forces—Messrs. Mahallati, Anvari, Haqqani, Movahedi Kermani, and Nategh Nouri. It was decided that we would establish a central office to coordinate and supervise the work of these institutions.
At night, the Central Council meeting of the [Islamic Republic] Party was held in my office. Mr. Khamenei had gone to Qom. Most of the meeting was spent on news and reports. Mr. Askaroladi [Minister of Commerce] complained about the government's treatment of and relations with the Ministry of Commerce, to which Mr. [Mir-Hossein Mousavi], the Prime Minister, gave explanations. Mr. [Asadollah] Badamchian spoke about the results of his trip to Gilan to resolve the dispute between the party there and Messrs. [Sadeq] Ehsanbakhsh and Ghorbani, saying it had been successful. We have a major problem in this regard in the party's dealings with some clerics. Mr. Nategh Nouri spoke about Mr. [Jalal al-Din] Taheri's confrontation with the Isfahan governor's office, the Imam's support for Mr. [Jalal al-Din] Taheri, and the failure of Messrs. [Jalal al-Din] Taheri and [Ali Akbar] Parvaresh to reach an agreement.
Today a group of pharmacists gathered in front of Parliament to influence a bill being discussed there that is in their favor. Pharmacist doctors oppose it, and they met with me.
Late at night I returned home. Reports from the fronts say the attack has been delayed; we are not ready.
