At noon, the IRGC intelligence chief and Mr. [Mohammad Reza] Faker, the Imam's representative in the IRGC, came. They had proposals regarding the Imam's protection. Mr. [Mohammad Ali] Saduqi, the representative from Yazd, came and spoke about Mr. [Morteza] Fahim's disagreements with executive officials in Kerman.
Messrs. [Mohammad] Mousavi Khoeiniha, Dr. [Hossein] Namazi, and Dr. [Mohsen] Nourbakhsh came. They consulted about eliminating usury. The bill will not come out of the special commission anytime soon. The banks want to eliminate usury sooner. It was decided that a single-article bill with double urgency would be brought to Parliament to prohibit usury going forward and, as much as possible, convert previous contracts into legitimate contracts. A number of Welfare Organization directors-general also came and were complaining about Mr. [Javad] Ejei, the new minister; they had resigned. It was decided that I would speak with him.
In the afternoon, Libya's foreign minister and his accompanying delegation came. They conveyed Mr. [Muammar] Gaddafi's message, and discussions were held.
The Supreme Defense Council meeting was held in Parliament. Mr. [Mohsen] Rezaei explained the upcoming operation. It is very extensive and difficult. It will require some time. In Kurdistan, we had faced harassing operations by the counterrevolution over the past two weeks. The repair of the HAWK clusteron lamps was commended. Late at night, I had a television interview.
