We held a public session. The Councils Bill, questions and the election of members to the Inter-Parliamentary Conference were on the agenda. At noon, two people came from Qom and requested facilities for the seminary, a printing press and other amenities. Mr [Mehdi] Saidi from Public Relations [The Majlis] consulted me on the publication of my pre-order speeches. In the evening, Mr Taheri Isfahani, the Friday Imam of Isfahan, came, and we discussed the city's affairs and the resolution of their disputes with the Party and the Pasdaran, etc.

I had an interview about the philosophy of the Hajj, and a meeting with the camp of the Republican [Islamic] Party's pupils, and a meeting with Behzad Nabavi, who was on his way to North Korea. I came home in the evening. Mr Fakhr al-Din Hijazi, who had come from India, said that my friends would prefer that I cancel my trip to India because of the statements made by Mrs [Indira] Gandhi in America, who had criticised the Islamic Revolution. The trip was called into question, and I sought counsel.
