General Account of Hashemi on the Implementation of the Constitution and the Different Interpretations by the Executive and Judicial Branches

Full Entry of the Day:

I woke up at four-thirty in the morning for sahar. Mehdi did not have sahar, as he usually fasts without it to reduce his weight. Fati, due to extreme weakness, is unable to fast. After the morning prayer, I slept until seven. I removed the bandage from my hand, which had been wrapped for injections, and performed ablution for the morning prayer.

At seven-thirty in the morning, Dr. Majid Maleki, a cardiologist, arrived. After examining the wound and confirming that everything was fine, he approved my return home. We arrived home at eight-thirty. They advised me to stop taking the heart control pills I had been given and to only take three low-dose aspirin tablets of 80 mg weekly if I wished. Other glucose tests also showed normal results, and they recommended that I stop taking glucose medication as well. I took a shower at home. My condition returned to normal. The day passed with studying and resting. We also had rain last night and today.

In the occupied Palestinian territories, Israel lifted the siege on Gaza Airport and some centers that had been besieged, while the Palestinian Authority arrested a number of released Palestinian militants, indicating some sort of agreement. Ehud Barak, the Prime Minister of Israel, again promised more land, which has been rejected by the people.

In the United States, the Florida court, despite George Bush's opposition, ruled that one million votes must be recounted. The Republicans have requested that the federal court resolve the disputes by certifying the elections. Many figures have expressed concern about the potential deep crisis in the country, and several American figures, including Henry Kissinger, the former Secretary of State, have issued statements regarding the formation of an international criminal court, stating that Israeli and American military personnel would definitely be prosecuted in such a court. Until now, Americans thought that such courts would be used to intimidate independent governments around the world.

In the media, the debate over the implementation of the Constitution is intense, and foreign media are exacerbating the conflict between the executive and judicial branches.
