Report by Morteza Alviri, the then-mayor of Tehran, on his disagreements with the Tehran City Council. Participation in the inauguration ceremony of the Islamic Revolution Housing Foundation projects at the Razi Institute in Hasarak.

We went from home to the Razi Institute in Hasarak for the inauguration ceremony of the Islamic Revolution Housing Foundation projects. Mr. Mohammad Sa'idi Kia, the Minister of the Islamic Revolution Housing Foundation, reported that 3,900 projects are being inaugurated today, most of which were initiated during my tenure, at a cost of 80 billion Tomans.

We visited the "Serum Therapy" section of the vaccine production facility. It is a modern factory for the production of tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis vaccines, using fermenters that the Netherlands donated to Iran years ago. It produces 72 million doses of vaccine annually and has a good standard that the World Health Organization has approved. In a gathering of personnel and managers, after listening to the reports of Mr. Sa'idi Kia, the Minister, and Mr. Mohammad Taghi Amanpour, the Deputy for Research, I presented certificates of appreciation to 35 individuals and gave a detailed speech on the value and origins of the establishment of the Islamic Revolution Housing Foundation. I went to my office and continued working until the evening.

Mr. Morteza Alviri, the Mayor of Tehran, came. He spoke about some of his disagreements with the Tehran City Council and expressed concern about the country's economic problems and the stagnation of construction, stating that the councils are not currently acting in the best interest of the country, unless the situation improves in the future.

In the late evening, I went to the Syrian Embassy to sign the condolence book for the late Hafez al-Assad. I also wrote a laudatory message. Dr. Hassan Habibi, the First Vice President, also arrived. Ofogh also sent a message of condolence to Assad's wife. The issues related to Hafez al-Assad's death overshadowed other world news today. Usually, statements and opinions are laudatory, and the succession process in Syria is moving towards bringing his son, Bashar al-Assad, to power.
