Full Entry of the Day:

Abdolnasser Hemmati, the head of the Central Insurance, came to provide a report on the state of insurance. He stated that the government ownership of insurance in the Constitution hinders its development and capital attraction. He also noted the lack of support from the government, particularly from Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, Hossein Namazi, as a negative factor. Insurance managers also attended the meeting. After Hemmati's report, I spoke about the necessity of insurance for economic development, creating peace and security for attracting investments, and the role of the private sector in development and production.

Hossein Anvari, the representative of Sarab, came to express his concerns. He mentioned that during the Reconstruction Era, he was a governor, and the construction projects you discussed in Haris and Sarab are currently underway, including dams, roads, canals, and the Neflin Sinite mines, with no other projects in sight. He sought help for the replacement of Ali Malekooti, the head of the Islamic Azad University in Sarab, and suggested that I should enter the political scene to save the country from these unproductive political controversies and economic stagnation. He stated that most parliamentarians, faced with the rightful demands of their constituencies, have developed a realistic spirit and appreciate the value of reconstruction efforts. I replied that I would help indirectly.

Eshagh Jahangiri, the Minister of Mines and Metals, came to follow up on the situation of Abdullah Noori. I mentioned that the Leader had indicated in a speech that if he compensates for what he damaged with his statements, he may be pardoned. There is hope for his introduction to the newly merged ministries of Industries and Mines, which was approved in Parliament today.

In the afternoon, Mohammad Reza Mowlazadeh, the former representative of Ahvaz, arrived. He has been appointed as the ambassador to Algeria. We consulted about our policies there. I provided some reminders regarding the Islamic Salvation Front in the Polisario and oil cooperation. Israel has threatened Lebanon and Syria that if Hezbollah's operations continue, it will attack the Syrian army present in Lebanon, while the Palestinians have rejected the proposals from Ehud Barak, the Prime Minister of Israel.
