دادرسی پشت درهای بسته

Mehdi Rahmanian, editor-in-chief of Sharq newspaper:

When the court is open, it means that the judicial system believes that the society itself can be a jury, and when it sees that the court process is fair, it will naturally be a pride for the judicial system. But when the court is held behind closed doors, anyone can make a judgment that may not be the right judgment.

This has always been the state of the media, they are the hens of mourning and weddings. For us, the issue of trial and imprisonment of journalists is not new. Neither for the media community, nor for the general public, it is not a new or strange event.

Anyway, whatever happens, it is expected that the fire will spread to the media as well, as it happened in the second half of last year, the media community was not spared from these events. And nearly 70-80 journalists were arrested and two of them are still in custody. We hope that these two journalists will face fair sentences that come with leniency.
