Kowsar Eftekhari, a theater actress and one of the eye injury victims from last year's protests in Iran, stated in a video published on her Instagram story on Thursday, October 5, that her court hearing took place yesterday (Wednesday), where she was sentenced to five months in prison.

She added, “They blinded my eye, and today, nearly a year later, I have been sentenced to five months in prison.”

According to Ms. Eftekhari, the issued sentence will be enforced in the coming days, and she must serve five months in prison.

Ms. Eftekhari further mentioned that the court initially sentenced her to four years and three months in prison, but later reduced her sentence to five months.

Previously, Ms. Eftekhari had announced that her case is set to be reviewed again with charges of "conspiracy, collusion, and propaganda against the regime."
