Dr. Mahdi Zare; full professor of seismology at the International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology announced on his personal Instagram page the passing of Dr. Bahram Akasheh, the first Iranian professor of seismology.
Dr. Akasheh has always warned about the danger of an earthquake occurring in Tehran and has been an advocate for relocating the capital to minimize casualties from a potential earthquake.
