By the final verdict of the judges panel of Branch One of the Tehran Provincial Court of Appeal, Mohammad Javad Zarif was sentenced to a fine of twenty million Tomans on the charge of insult.
Following the complaint by Hamid Rasaee and the inquiry from the prosecutor's office to the Special Clerical Court and the Guardian Council: By the final verdict of the judges panel of Branch One of the Tehran Provincial Court of Appeal, Mohammad Javad Zarif was sentenced to a fine of twenty million Tomans on the charge of insult.
It remains to be seen whether Mohammad Javad Zarif or his lawyer, Hossein Sartipi, will petition the Supreme Court for a retrial (request for review), or if they will pay the fine to the Bureau of Execution of Sentences after the file is returned, or if Sheikh Hamid (Rasaee) will grant his consent/pardon.
