Ayandeh Bank and Future Ahead

In various notes and comments from officials and virtual, economic, and political activists, I asked if this bank has multiple problems, why don’t the stakeholders, according to commercial law, file a dissolution petition with the Tehran Public Court specialized in commerce so that the competent court can address it?

The reality is that the dissolution of a bank without merging into a larger bank has significant economic, political, social, and even international implications and consequences.

Therefore, making a decision about it is beyond the authority of any power, let alone a court that wants to decide solely based on legal and judicial considerations.

Thus, two sensitive and even more sensitive proposals have been presented to the Supreme Council for Economic Coordination of the Heads of Branches.

1- Reforming the structure of Ayandeh Bank 2- Dissolution of Ayandeh Bank

Both proposals have very significant consequences that must be approved by the leaders and then ratified by Ayatollah Khamenei after going through expert evaluation in order to become law.

But between the sensitive and more sensitive proposals, if it reaches the final decision of this council, we must see whether the view towards structural reform, which is less costly, will be taken, or to reduce its subsequent consequences, through the current practice, namely securing funds and deposits from sources and the process outside the Deposit Guarantee Fund, this council must also make another decision, which is that there must be consideration for the resources to pay the funds and deposits of the people.

For this reason, making decisions for the future of the future bank is very difficult and requires consultations with higher authorities and obtaining security and intelligence opinions.
