In the text of Putin's telegram to the Leader of the Islamic Republic, he stated:

"I offer my deepest condolences regarding this great tragedy that has befallen the Iranian nation and the air disaster that led to the death of Ebrahim Raisi, the President, and several other prominent officials of your country.

Seyed Ebrahim Raisi was a distinguished politician who devoted his entire life to serving his homeland. He truly enjoyed great respect among his compatriots and had considerable credibility abroad. As a true friend of Russia, he personally played a significant role in fostering friendly relations between our two neighboring countries and made considerable efforts to elevate these relations to a strategic partnership.

I met with Seyed Ebrahim Raisi several times, and I will always remember this noble man.

Please convey my sincere condolences and support to the relatives and loved ones of the President and all the victims of this tragedy. I wish him and all the people of Iran spiritual resilience in the face of this heavy and irreparable loss."
