عراقچی در پاسخ به اظهارات گوترش: تعهد دیرینه ایران به رژیم جهانی عدم اشاعه بر همگان واضح است

It is brazen to preach to the Iranians "to make it clear once and for all that they will stop having nuclear weapons."

It is brazen to preach to the Iranians "to make it clear once and for all that they will stop having nuclear weapons."

Iran's longstanding commitment to the global non-proliferation regime is clear to all.

Iran signed the NPT as a founding member in 1968.

The Supreme Leader has issued a religious decree declaring all weapons of mass destruction haram.

In 2015, Iran signed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which imposed the most comprehensive inspection regime in the history of the IAEA, and explicitly stated:

Iran reiterates that it will never, under any circumstances, seek to seek, produce or acquire a nuclear weapon. (JCPOA, paragraph C of the "Introduction and General Provisions" section)

This is a permanent and clear commitment that Iran has remained committed to even after the United States unilaterally withdrew from the JCPOA in 2018.
