The reaction of Mahdi Fazeli, a member of the Office for Preserving and Publishing the Works of the Leader of the Islamic Republic, to the unreleased interview from Abdi Media.
Following the release of a teaser for the exclusive interview with Mohammad Hashemi, in which he mentioned Ayatollah Khamenei's invitation to Mir Hossein Mousavi to participate in the 2009 elections, Mahdi Fazeli, a member of the Office for Preserving and Publishing the Works of Ayatollah Khamenei, refuted this claim in a tweet before the full interview was published, stating:
"The recent claim regarding the Leader inviting Engineer Mousavi to participate in the 2009 presidential election is not accurate. The Leader did not invite him; rather, in response to his inquiry, he said: 'I neither say come nor say do not come, but if you come and are elected, I will support you and cooperate with you.'"
Postscript: Mr. Fazeli, I understand how important this issue is to you, but I wish you would have taken a moment to respond after the full interview was released so that your response could be more comprehensive.
Now, as I mentioned last time, should this response be considered official from the Leader of the Islamic Republic or his office, or do official responses still come from Mr. Seyyed Mehrdad Seyyed Mahdi, the Public Relations Manager of Ayatollah Khamenei's office, and this is merely your personal opinion?
