Tomb of Ehsan Tabari (February 8, 1917, in Sari – April 28, 1989, in Tehran)

Ehsan Tabari was a philosopher, writer, poet, and prominent Marxist-Leninist theorist. He was an ideologist and a member of the Central Committee and Political Bureau of the Tudeh Party of Iran during the Iranian Revolution. From the early 1950s until 1983, when he was imprisoned by the Islamic Republic of Iran, he was considered the "most prominent and notable theoretical figure" of the Tudeh Party. During the reign of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, he was sentenced to death in absentia by a military court.
