This is a tweet that Professor Dr. Barahani published last night in a heated emotional atmosphere based on raw and incomplete information regarding the late Mohammad Ghobadlou; as if no apparent judicial process under the laws of the Islamic Republic has taken place...

The text of Dr. Barahani’s tweet:  

“The execution of the qisas sentence for #Ghobadlou, while a retrial has been accepted by the Supreme Court and the equivalent court has not yet commented on this matter, is either the result of a mistake or a mischief. If the rational authorities of the judiciary do not intervene in these few hours, blood will be shed unlawfully. What a shocking night!”

This is the explanation today from Professor Dr. Barahani (after the heartbreaking execution of Mohammad Ghobadlou), which, of course, provides a description of the actions and processes of the judiciary and implicitly acknowledges the legal proceedings of the case.

However, he cleverly addresses the proposing party (Ali Alghasi Mehr, the Chief Justice of Tehran Province) and poses a question.

In his note, Professor Barahani makes no reference to the primary authority responsible for the approval of Article 477 and the one who instructed Branch 39 of the Supreme Court and subsequently allowed the issuance of the execution order on behalf of Ayatollah Khamenei at the stage of request for permission, namely (Sheikh Gholamhossein Mohseni Eje’i, the head of the judiciary and, of course, the appointed prosecutor for the clergy) whom the professor recently praised in a tweet, without addressing how he reached a legal justification.

Isn't the politics incredibly ruthless?
