According to this instruction, the possession and transfer of currency up to the amount of 10,000 euros or its equivalent in other currencies is permitted.
The Central Bank issued a circular, communicating the amendment to the "Executive Instructions for Determining the Amount of Foreign Currency that Can Be Transported, Stored, and Exchanged Within the Country" to the country's banking network.
According to this directive, each person is allowed to keep and carry foreign currency up to 10,000 euros or its equivalent in other currencies. Amounts above this limit will only be possible upon presentation of documents such as a valid exchange invoice, a withdrawal document from a foreign currency account, or a customs declaration.
The validity of these documents is a maximum of six months, after which the currency must either be deposited in the bank or officially sold. Additionally, the transportation of currency by banks and currency exchange offices is exempt from these restrictions, but requires an official introduction letter and a Sena receipt.
