The likelihood of 24-hour blackouts in parts of the country during the hot season.

The likelihood of 24-hour power outages in the warm season in parts of the country.

Nuclear energy is not the best option for us for electricity generation.

Hashem Orayi, the head of the Union of Scientific Energy Associations of Iran and a full professor at Sharif University of Technology, expressed concern about the neglect of the demand sector and the excessive increase in electricity consumption in our country, telling the Iran Watch:

Unfortunately, in the past 5 to 6 years, we have not been able to increase electricity production to the same extent as the growth in demand. The continuation of this trend over several consecutive years has exacerbated the electricity imbalance. Given that it is unlikely for the current trend to change in the near future, the amount of blackout hours in residential, administrative, industrial, agricultural, and other sectors will increase until further notice.

Orabi pointed out: With the continuation of the current situation, one can even expect that in the warm season, on some days, electricity may be cut off for 24 hours in parts of the country, because there is a possibility that the network will be subjected to such pressure that in some provinces we may witness a blackout, meaning the entire network could fail, as there is currently a lot of pressure on the grid. / Iran Watcher
