Ali Khodaei, the workers' representative in the Supreme Labor Council, said about the salary situation: "It is not possible to live with a salary of less than 30 million tomans in Tehran. We emphasize that next year, wages must be higher than the rate of inflation, otherwise the livelihood problems will continue."
Morteza Afgheh, a professor of economics, said: "Increasing salaries indiscriminately and without supporting economic enterprises can create more problems." The government should keep in mind that salary increases should be accompanied by support for small and medium-sized enterprises to prevent widespread unemployment.
