Hossein Samsami, a member of the parliament's economic commission, emphasized that the increase in the preferential exchange rate will definitely lead to a noticeable increase in the prices of basic commodities next year, telling Iran Watch:
In the next year, the price of the preferred currency will increase from 28,500 tomans to 38,500 tomans, and the amount of its allocation will decrease. The reduction in the amount of preferential currency allocation means that more goods will be removed from the list of receiving this currency, so there is definitely a serious concern about the increase in the prices of basic commodities from the beginning of next year, so that it is possible that the prices of goods that are excluded from receiving the government currency in 2025 will double at the beginning of next year.
