In the shadow of the strange and peculiar negligence of the State Tax Administration, it appears that certain individuals have submitted a report/complaint regarding tax evasion by the Zavieh Oil and Gas Investment Company and the Zavieh Financial Group to the Tehran Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor. The Prosecutor has reportedly referred the matter to a special investigator at the Court for Government Employees, and the complainants have also reported the situation to the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance.
This newly formed judicial case presents a "golden opportunity" for the State Tax Administration: just as they failed to cooperate with the international affairs investigator, they could once again neglect or refuse to respond to potential inquiries from the government employees' investigator. This would lead the investigator to issue a writ of non-prosecution due to lack of evidence, effectively settling and ending the matter of this group's tax evasion once and for all.
Of course, my prediction will only fail to materialize if there is a genuine will, based on specific directives, to confront and uncover these allegations.
