Yesterday and last night, heavy snow fell and it continued till evening in Tehran today.  At nine o'clock in the morning, we went to the International Radio and Television Conference Center for the opening of the Red Crescent Conference.  It was established on the occasion of the 80th year of its establishment.  Dr. [Ahmed Ali] Nurbala and [Mr. Jean de Courte and Ole Gudahle] two of the heads of the International Red Cross and the International Federation reported.  I gave a speech about the importance of the spirit of philanthropy, self-sacrifice, the past, and avoiding selfishness and monopoly, and I also criticized America for sedition.
From there, we went to the strategic research center.  I visited the amphitheatre, which was recently completed, and we had a meeting with the deputies about the issues related to the council elections and the National Religious Company and its works, as well as the possible war in Iraq.  Dr. [Hassan] Rouhani, [Chairman of the Center and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council] believes that the possibility of war has increased and the British Embassy, as the representative of the coalition against Iraq, has asked Iran to accept an officer as the representative of the coalition in Iran who can convey Iran's words and also convey the words of the coalition to Iran in the event of possible events during the war.
After lunch I went to my office.  I did the work until eight o'clock at night.  According to the reports, an Ilyushin [IL-76] plane, belonging to the Guards Corps, with about 300 passengers, which was going from Zahedan to Kerman, disappeared from the radar this evening in the vicinity of Kerman, and before that the pilot had informed that he was facing bad weather.
Even today, Israel has killed people in Gaza and the Mujahideen have thrown rockets at Israeli settlements.
