In the morning, [Mr. Mostafa Izadi], commander of the Hamzeh Base, and Mr. [Ahmad] Kazemi, commander of the 8th Najaf Division, came. They gave a report on Operation Qader. They said we have around four hundred martyrs, missing, and prisoners in the 8th Najaf Division. I also asked some questions and the discussions were recorded.

We spoke with Ayatollah Khamenei on the phone about the meeting of the representatives tomorrow. It became clear that he is determined to participate in this meeting. I wrote him a letter and mentioned some points. Ahmad Agha came and informed that today Mr. Mahdavi Kani, Nategh Nouri, Yazdi, and Jannati visited the Imam and asked him to withdraw or compensate for the statement he made indicating that changing Mr. [Mir-Hossein Mousavi] as Prime Minister was not advisable, so that Mr. [Ayatollah] Khamenei could introduce someone else, but the Imam did not accept and firmly said that it was not advisable to change the government.

In the evening, Mr. Behzad Nabavi and [Mohsen] Nourbakhsh came and expressed concern about Mr. [Ayatollah] Khamenei’s decision to change the government, and asked me to intervene and prevent it.
