Today I was at home. Parliament was closed, and there were fewer visitors as well. I mostly spent my time studying reports and performance booklets of government organizations. Ahmad Agha and Mr. Reyshahri came and informed me of Mr. Qotbzadeh's execution—which was carried out last night—as well as the contact with Mr. Shariatmadari to condemn the counterrevolution; I was affected. Mr. Reyshahri spoke about the weakness of the ideological-political department. At noon, one of the Revolutionary Guards came to perform the marriage contract ceremony.

Mr. Gholam-Ali Haddad Adel requested a message for the student seminar, and it was decided that one would be prepared. They brought the reports from Parliament, and I read them until the end of the night. We had no major news; the wave of terrorism has subsided, and there is no movement on the fronts either. The Islamic Republic News Agency contacted Parliament to get my opinion about Qotbzadeh's execution, which would naturally create a wave of reactions. I contacted the Foreign Ministry and requested the text of Mr. Hafez al-Assad's statements at the Arab leaders' conference, and they sent it.

Mr. Reza Seifollahi came and reported on a five- or six-hour film that had been recorded of the leaders of the counterrevolution in prison, defending the Revolution and condemning the counterrevolutionary movements. It is interesting. He spoke about house-to-house inspections in Tehran, and I opposed it because of its problems and harmful consequences.
