After prayer, exercise and breakfast, I did the work until nine o'clock in the morning. The oil minister came. The OPEC report and the progress of negotiations with Japan to resolve the petrochemical issue between Iran and Japan, and permission to negotiate with BP [British Petroleum Company] to invest in the Salman gas field, to be transferred to the UAE and to export excess production of chemical fertilizers in the future.

Members of the Parliament's Agriculture Commission came. They emphasized on paying more attention to agriculture. A delegation came to Libya to participate in the celebration of the anniversary of the Libyan revolution. They reported on the trip and emphasized [Abdul Salam] Jalud's [Libya Jamahari number 2 man] on the need for greater cooperation between Iran and Libya and expressed Libya's discomfort with being isolated in the Lebanese political scene.

Mr. [Abd al-Hossein] Wahaji [Minister of Commerce] came. He gave a work report on measures to control the prices of potatoes and onions, and talked about the implementation of punishments to control the prices of goods and distribution. Mr. [Gholamohsin] Jami [Imam Juma of Abadan] from Abadan complained on the phone about the appointment of a governor for Kahkiloyeh and Boyar Ahmad, whose son was the guardian there, and also demanded the removal of Bahman Shir dams and the dredging of Bahman Shir; I emphasized to Mr. [Mohammed] Faruzandeh on the phone.

Mr. [Jalil] Besharati came. He has resigned from the position of following up complaints [of the presidential institution]. In the evening, Mr. [Hamid] Mirzadeh came for executive affairs of the country. The Economic Council had a meeting. Allowed to change the price of some goods. Potato and onion price control plan was approved.
